·      Using the describing words big, little, tall, short, fat, skinny, etc.
·      For example, “the big, fat pig” or “the small, fuzzy lamb” etc.

Story Follow-up:
·      Animal Match Game – use photos of farm animals from the farm animal topic board and match the animals from the story to the pictures
·      If you have farm animal toys at home – match them to the topic board
·      Do all cows look the same?  How are they different?
·      How is a donkey different from a horse?  How are they the same?

Observation and Feedback:
·      Observe your child as they participate in Circle Time.
·      If you are able, take a picture of your child participating in the activity and email it to Ms. Angela – alklassen@cbe.ab.ca

Fine Motor with Ms. Jill

·      Small farm animal toys (or dinosaurs, cars, etc.)
·      Small sponges
·      Turkey baster, squeeze bottles from the recycling (i.e. empty mustard or Ketchup bottles)
·      Washable markers or if you are very adventurous – real dirt if you are outside!
·      A large bucket or even the bathtub
·      Dish soap
·      Towel
Instructions:
·      Use markers (or real dirt) to make the toys dirty – this is a great way to practice proper grip on the markers
·      When the animals are good and dirty, wash them in a tub of warm, soapy water
·      Use the turkey baster, sponges or squeeze bottles to scrub the toys clean
·      When they are clean, use the towel to dry the toys off
·      Repeat as many times as your child stays interested in the activity!

Gross Motor with Ms. Stacey
Materials:
·      Farm Animal Walk Cards –
·      Barnyard Dance movement cards –
·      Farm animal toys
·      Small box or gift bag

Instructions:

·       Show the Farm Animal Walk cards on your device or print them

·       If you are able to print them off, cut them out to make individual cards

·       OR if you have small farm animal toys that will work

·       Place the cards (or toys) into the small box or gift bag

·       Invite your child to select a card or toy from the container and then complete the action

·       Encourage your child to use all their muscles for each animal walk

·       You can make it a game of Red Light/Green Light by saying “Stop” and “Go” so your child pauses for short periods (which encourages them to hold the pose for strength and stability)

·       Dance along to Barnyard Dance by Sandra Boynton - Read Aloud

                https://youtu.be/Se2KVqGQoUI
·      Remember you can pause the video at each step to allow your child time to do the action for at least 15 seconds for a good workout – use the action cards to show them the movement from the dance
