Fine Motor with Ms. Jill
Dirt Sensory Play – explore a little patch of nature to see what you can discover

Materials:
·      Dirt or a small patch of garden space (or a large bin or pot with dirt inside)
·      If you are unable to access real dirt, this is also a great play dough activity
·      Digging tools like a trowel, big spoon, stick or sand toys
·      Little rocks, seeds (popcorn, beans, etc.) or beads, buttons, etc.
·      Small cup or watering can

Instructions for outside play:
·      Digging and planting in actual dirt or garden can be amazing fun
·      Use the tools to dig up the dirt and place seeds to make your own little garden
·      Use the small sticks to mark where the seeds have been planted
·      Water the planted seeds and watch them start to grow
·      Extend the play by making mud pies – messy but fun!
Instructions for inside play:
·      Inside with playdough or clay
·      Pretend the playdough is the dirt – roll it in a ball or flatten it out like a garden
·      “Plant” the seeds or beads in playdough
·      Use tools or your fingers to dig in the playdough to find the seeds
·      building a flower with playdough (rolling out a long stem, rolling balls for the center and petals of the flower).

Creative Time
Cupcake Liner Flowers
Materials: suggestions – you can use anything you have at home for this craft
·      Cupcake liner papers – in various colours
·      Coffee filters
·      Pipe cleaners, straws or sticks for the stem
·      Crayons or markers to draw stems and to add details to the picture
·      Scrap paper in various colours
·      Paper plate
·      Scissors
·      Glue
·      Stickers (optional)

Instructions:
·      Invite your child to separate the liners or filters – this is great for fine motor skills
·      Invite them to use the scissors to snip around the circle to make petals
·      Glue the liners to the large paper inside out so the colourful side is showing
·      Continue to glue one inside the other to make a pretty flower
·      Add the stem and some leaves
·      Add details to the picture such as leaves, bugs, grass, etc.
·      Be creative and have fun!

Gross Motor with Ms. Stacey
The Tiny Seed Yoga

Materials:
·      The Tiny Seed Yoga instructions can be found here:
Instructions:
·      Watch the weekly Circle Time video with Ms. Angela reading the story
·      Pause the video to encourage your child to move into each pose and hold it for at least 15 seconds
·      The goal is to use your body to “act out” the story so it’s okay to add your own actions too.   Have fun!
